FAQ
What is TZUR Wallet?
TZUR is a self-custody Bitcoin wallet for Windows that lets you send, receive, and store bitcoin while keeping full control of your private keys. No account, email, or personal information is required. TZUR is Bitcoin-only and does not support altcoins or tokens. What makes TZUR unique is native-language seed phrase support: your 12-word recovery phrase is displayed in any of 31 languages alongside English, so you can back up your wallet in your own language. TZUR is built on open Bitcoin standards (BIP-39, BIP-32, BIP-84) and uses Native SegWit addresses with Taproot send support. It is a one-time purchase with no subscriptions or recurring fees. The wallet is developed by Blocksight OÜ, registered in Estonia.
Is TZUR Wallet custodial?
No. TZUR is fully non-custodial. Your keys never leave your computer. Only you can access your bitcoin.
What does self-custody mean?
Self-custody means you, and only you, control access to your bitcoin. Your private keys (the secret codes that authorize transactions) are generated and stored on your computer, not on a company's server. No one else can freeze, block, or move your funds. Think of it like holding physical cash: no bank or exchange can deny you access. This is fundamentally different from custodial wallets like those on exchanges, where the company holds your keys on your behalf. With self-custody, you have full ownership and sovereignty over your bitcoin. The tradeoff is responsibility: if you lose your seed phrase and your computer, no one, including TZUR, can recover your funds. That is why writing down your seed phrase and storing it safely is critical.
Does TZUR Wallet store my Bitcoin?
No. Bitcoin exists on the Bitcoin network. The wallet stores only the keys that give you access to it.
What makes TZUR different from other wallets?
TZUR is the first Bitcoin wallet that displays your seed phrase in 31 native languages alongside English. Most wallets only support English seed phrases, but TZUR lets you write down and verify your recovery words in Hebrew, Arabic, Farsi, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Chinese, and 23 more languages. TZUR is Bitcoin-only. There are no altcoins, no tokens, and no DeFi features. It supports both SegWit and Taproot addresses, includes a built-in blockchain explorer (BlockSight.Live), offers 75 fiat currencies for balance display, and has 7 visual themes including a fully customizable My TZUR theme. It is a one-time purchase with no subscriptions.
Why is the wallet Bitcoin-only?
By supporting only Bitcoin, TZUR avoids the complexity and security risks that come with managing multiple cryptocurrencies. Multi-asset wallets must handle different blockchain protocols, token standards, smart contract interactions, and network configurations, each adding potential attack surface. Fewer moving parts means fewer ways things can go wrong. A wallet that does one thing well is safer than one that tries to do everything. Bitcoin is the most established, most secure, and most decentralized cryptocurrency network. TZUR is built exclusively for users who want to hold their own bitcoin with confidence, not trade altcoins or interact with DeFi protocols. This focus allows the team to dedicate all security attention to a single, well-understood protocol.
Does TZUR support Lightning?
No. TZUR is focused on on-chain Bitcoin to keep the wallet simple, auditable, and secure.
What is a seed phrase?
A seed phrase (also called a recovery phrase or mnemonic) is a set of 12 or 24 words generated when you create a Bitcoin wallet. These words are selected from a standardized list of 2,048 words defined by the BIP-39 standard. Think of it as the master key to your bitcoin. All your private keys and addresses are mathematically derived from this single phrase. If your computer is lost, stolen, or broken, entering these words into any BIP-39 compatible wallet restores full access to your funds. You should write down your seed phrase on paper immediately after creating your wallet and store it in a secure offline location. Never save it as a screenshot, in a notes app, or in cloud storage. Anyone who has your seed phrase has full control of your bitcoin, and there is no way to reset or recover it if lost.
What is a localized seed phrase?
TZUR displays your BIP-39 seed phrase in your native language alongside English. 31 languages are supported, including Hebrew, Arabic, Farsi, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, German, French, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), and more. This makes it easier to write down, verify, and safely store your backup because you are reading words you understand rather than unfamiliar English words. The phrase remains fully compatible with the Bitcoin standard. Both versions (native language and English) derive from the same entropy, so either version can restore your wallet. TZUR publishes its BIP-39 wordlists as open source on GitHub for any wallet to adopt.
What language is the seed phrase generated in?
TZUR generates your seed phrase using the BIP-39 standard and displays it in both your native language and English. You always have both versions available. Other wallets typically only support English.
What happens if I lose my seed phrase?
If the seed phrase is lost and your computer is unavailable, the bitcoin may be permanently lost. That is why it is critical to write down your seed phrase and store it in a safe location.
Can TZUR Wallet recover my wallet?
No. Recovery is possible only with the seed phrase. No company or support team can restore your wallet for you.
How do I receive Bitcoin?
Open the Receive screen and share your address or QR code with the sender. A new address is generated each time for better privacy.
How do I send Bitcoin?
Open the Send screen, enter the recipient address and amount, review the fee, and confirm the transaction.
How long do transactions take?
Typically between 10 minutes and 1 hour depending on network conditions and the fee you selected.
What if I send to the wrong address?
Bitcoin transactions cannot be reversed. Always double-check the recipient address before confirming.
Does the wallet support buying Bitcoin?
No. TZUR Wallet supports sending and receiving bitcoin only. You can buy bitcoin on an exchange and send it to your TZUR wallet.
Can I restore my wallet in a different language?
Yes. TZUR lets you restore your wallet using your seed phrase in any of the 31 supported languages or in English. No other wallet offers this. If you ever need to restore in a wallet that only supports English, simply use your English seed.
Can I recover my wallet on another device?
Yes. Your seed phrase works on any compatible Bitcoin wallet, whether it is TZUR on a new computer or a different wallet app. Your bitcoin lives on the Bitcoin network, not on your computer. The seed phrase gives you access from anywhere.
What happens if I lose my computer?
Your bitcoin is on the Bitcoin network, not on your computer. As long as you have your seed phrase, you can restore your wallet on any compatible device.
Can I import a wallet from another app?
Yes. If you already have a Bitcoin wallet that uses a standard seed phrase (most do), you can enter those words in TZUR to import it. TZUR will display your seed in both your native language and English for easier backup.
If I restore my seed in another wallet, do I need to convert the language?
Only if the other wallet does not support your language. TZUR always gives you both versions, native and English. Most other wallets only accept English, so use your English seed there. Inside TZUR, you can restore in any of the 31 supported languages directly.
Is TZUR Wallet safe?
TZUR follows established Bitcoin security practices and is designed with security as the top priority. Private keys are generated locally on your computer using the operating-system secure random number generator (BCryptGenRandom on Windows). All transactions are constructed and signed entirely on your computer before being broadcast. The encrypted seed is stored in a local secrets file sealed with Windows DPAPI, which binds it to your Windows user account, and can additionally be sealed to your computer's TPM for hardware-backed protection. Key material is loaded into memory only during signing and immediately cleared afterward. TZUR never transmits private keys, seed phrases, or personal data over the network. The wallet connects to public Electrum servers for blockchain data, but treats them as untrusted data providers. Your wallet can be protected with a PIN and, where available, Windows Hello.
Are my private keys stored on a server?
No. Private keys are generated and stored only on your computer. They are never transmitted anywhere.
Does TZUR track my transactions?
No. Your transactions are between you and the Bitcoin network. TZUR does not monitor or log your activity.
Does TZUR collect personal data?
No. TZUR does not require personal information. Anonymous usage analytics are optional and can be turned off in Settings.
Can I use TZUR without creating an account?
Yes. There is no signup, no email, no account. Create a wallet and start using it immediately.
What network does the wallet connect to?
TZUR connects directly to the Bitcoin network using standard Electrum infrastructure.
Is the wallet open source?
No. TZUR is proprietary software. The source code is not publicly available. However, TZUR is built entirely on open Bitcoin standards (BIP-39, BIP-32, BIP-84) and uses established open-source cryptographic libraries. Your seed phrase and keys follow the same universal standards used across the Bitcoin ecosystem, so you are never locked into TZUR.
What happens if the TZUR app disappears?
Your bitcoin is secured by the Bitcoin network, not the app. Your seed phrase restores access using any compatible wallet. TZUR is simply the interface.
What platforms are supported?
TZUR is currently available for Windows. More platforms may follow.
How much does TZUR Wallet cost?
TZUR Wallet is a one-time purchase of $59.99 (ILS 199), bought directly at tzur.live. Your purchase is a licence for one computer. There are no subscriptions, no monthly fees, and no in-app purchases. You pay once and receive all future updates, security improvements, and new features at no extra cost. This pricing model reflects the product philosophy: TZUR is a tool you own, not a service you rent. Network fees for Bitcoin transactions are separate and go to Bitcoin miners, not to TZUR. The wallet does not take any cut or add any markup to transaction fees.
Does TZUR Wallet collect analytics?
TZUR Wallet may collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the application. Analytics are optional and can be disabled at any time in Settings > Privacy > Analytics. Analytics do not include: Bitcoin addresses, wallet balances, transaction amounts, seed phrases, private keys, or personal identity.
